Was soll ich hier bloß veröffentlichen?

Also, was packt man denn sonst drauf?

Eher weniger.

[book] Suzanne Brockmann – Tall, Dark & Dangerous 02 – Forever Blue

Language: English
Pages: 256
Genre: Romantic Suspensw
Rating: 5/5

Plot:
Blue McCoy was once the hero of Lucy Tait’s teenaged dreams—quiet, dark and dangerous. After high school he left Hatboro Creek, South Carolina, to join the military. Years later, now a Navy SEAL, Blue was a man who embodied all of Lucy’s fantasies.

Now Blue is back in town, and Lucy is not the person he remembered. She’s a no-nonsense police officer—and a woman Blue can’t take his eyes off. But then Blue is accused of murder. And Lucy is assigned his case. Now their brief affair has become part of an extensive investigation, where what’s at stake is critical—Blue’s future…and maybe Lucy’s heart. Is her hero still the man she remembered?

Review:
Who is Joe, when you can have Blue? Well, I liked Joe, but I have to admit Blue was more interesting to me even with the sandals on and the story didn’t feel that anticliamtic as the first one.

When I read the first pages I thought I wouldn’t like it, cos Blue and Lucy were getting it on and I’m really glad that it didn’t come to that, cos I’m usually not very fond of books when the two main characters are get it on right from the start, because I want the suspense and the tension. And yes, I was getting it. I really liked the story about the murder and I had know glue until it was revealed, who the real muderer was. But what a judgemental town, they all should have apologized in the end for the did to him.

The end was way much better than in the first book, cos after the big ‘boom’ there weren’t a couple of pages, which took away from the moment of “happy ending”. Oh, but why do they always have to marry after one week of knowing?

The only thing I don’t like about the writing style is the repitition of the things, which keep the main characters apart. Blues constantly thinking about that Lucy just want to be friends and that he would never fall in love this way. And Lucy stupid assumption that Blue only want a sexual relationship and would only fall in love with a girl like Jenny Lee. It got really, really silly at the end. Lucy figured out the reason why Blue directed her to the TV station where Jenny Lee worked, but still asumed Blue doesn’t want her. I really wanted to slap her, just to make her think clear.

Oh and one thing, because I’m German and I think it was very bad research on the authors part. Blue was supposed to speak German fluently, but what I said wasn’t only written wring, which I could bear, but it was also grammatically wrong, which would have made clear to the enemy that he wasn’t a German. “Guten Tag, wie geht es dir? Meine Nahme ist Fritz.”, the right and polite way would be “Guten Tag, wie geht es Ihnen. Mein Name ist Fritz.”.

Besides that very good read I could hardly put way and now for some reason I’m really curious about Friscos book.

[book] Roxanne St. Claire – Bullet Catcher 03 – Take me Tonight

When he’s assigned to stop Sage’s kidnapping, he’s unexpectedly trapped between deceit and sizzling desire. But the closer Johnny and Sage get to the truth, the closer danger stalks them…until death is only a double-click away.

Review:
I call those books for inbetween, when I’m not really sure what to read next, cos they’re good entertainment and I really like the first 2 books, so I had my expectations and when I read the first scene between Lucy and Sage I thought I won’t be disappointed, but – oh hell – was I wrong.

The only thing that kept me more or less reading it, was the crime to solve. I was curious about what was really going on with that team of cheerleaders and had one suspect guessed wrong, but for the two main characters I couldn’t care less.

Did Johnny ever appear on the other two books, if so I know why I didn’t kept him mind at all. He was not an interesting hero as he was portrait. He felt “blah” to me and even if everybody on that agency is supposed to be sexy, he wasn’t my cup of tea and don’t get me started on the Australian who appeared at the end. I know taste is different, but long wavy hair on a male gives me very weird pictures in my mind, which are far away from hot.

And Sage. She was a strong, independent investigative journalist, but all she did was asked “pushy” question to Johnny. Yes, I know he was shady and avoided a lot of questions, but why did she let a stranger into her life in the first place? She could have kicked him out for good, after she tried to seduce him with sex to give up some information, which I didn’t like either. Made her look very desperate and as the woman she was supposed to be she could have chosen differently.

The only good part were the scenes between Dan and Lucy, they made the last couple of pages readable.

I so hope the next part will be better.

[book] Jennifer Ashley – Shifters Unbound 01 – Pride Mates

Language: English
Pages: 304
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Rating: 3/5

Plot:
Twenty years ago shape shifters and announced themselves to the world only to be shunted into “Shiftertowns” and forced to wear collars that control their hunting and fighting instincts (referred to as “Taking the Collar”).

Liam Morrissey, big cat-Shifter, is currently liaison between the Shifters of Austin, TX, and the humans of the city. Kim Fraser, attorney, finds herself in the unique position of having to defend a Shifter on a murder charge.

Kim ventures to Shiftertown to seek Liam’s help and stumbles across too many secrets that the Shifters want kept secret. The unmated Liam is forced to protect Kim against the wrath of his clan leader and his own father, and to his surprise discovers a powerful attraction to the sassy, sexy lady.

Review:
I accidentally stumbled over that series and after reading the plot I was like:”Shifters. Sounds like my kind of thing.”. I wasn’t wrong at all.

I like the world that was created, gave me a bit of a X-Men vibe. With the shifters to fit in the world, but denied the same rights as humans, because they think they’re dangerous and as we’ve learned through the course of the book they can be very dangerous.

I like the shifterworld and the contrast of the human world, trying to co-exist and the author really made me side with the shifters, because most of the humans we met are very narrow minded. The Morissay clan was very likeable, especially Sean who I found more interesting than Liam and he was already very interesting.

Kim on the other hand was a nice woman, but to me she felt very inconsistent. She was described as a strong, independent woman, who can handle her life and especially her job as a lawyer, but everytime she stood up for something Liam had just to work his mojo and she bowed down. Yes, she probably got him on a “leash” and got to know her way to handle and sooth him, but in my opinion in the end he got the upper hand.

The overall plot was good even if I always roll my eyes on the fact that within 3 days they fall in love for life, but that comes with most of the books in that genre and it’s fine, but I didn’t like the ending. I wish it would had ended after the big fight and everything else would have been put into a prologue to give us a glimpse of the future. I didn’t like the main reason she went back to Liam, he should have worked hard to get her back, it was too easy.

But anyway, I’m really interested in reading the next book.

Review:
Well, I wasn’t that curious about 5th book like I was for the 4th, but I was still damn curious about the interactions between Kate and Curran as a mated couple. And I’m really glad that they’re not a happy, fluffy, sunshine couple. But to strong personaltities together and you get a lot of edges. It’s the right balance between being in love and struggling, which won’t make that relationship boring soon.

The story as always was very good and the pace with Ilona Andrews never gets slow. Once you think you can take a break, they next thing is waiting for you on the next page, which on many times kept me from putting that book away.

And I hate when books end with such a open thing, which makes you wonder what will happen next, but you have to wait way to long for the next book. I’m really interesting in how the story keeps progressing and when we finally meet Roland.
